The life that has been keeping me from blogging!

Alright, alright, so i know i am slacking on my blogging, but in my defense it has been a pretty busy time for me! Since my decision to stop going to school I have been working, working, working! As some of you know, i am a live in nanny in pecan. i work for a great mom who happens to travel 2-3 weeks out of the month, so my job is to take care of her daughter! I absolutely love this job, despite the fact that we have to leave the house at 5:30 am in order to get her to school by 6!

I also work at a community center funded by my church called rancho brazos! Much like the first job i mentioned, i love it! I work there two nights a weeks for a couple hours and i spend my time there doing crafts with kids and helping them with whatever homework they may have. This job is so rewarding, not because im getting paid the big bucks(ha!), but because these kids feed my soul. They help me remember what's important in life, which is something that we all struggle with in life from time to time!

I recently started working in my church nursery too! This job is a little more difficult because the kids are  younger than im used to! Dont get me wrong, i love working with all kids! Its just harder taking care of 10 babies under three, then it is taking care of older kids like i do a rancho brazos! I do love working in the nursery that i grew up in though! Its fun to know that i am surrounded by people who have watched me grow up from the time i was in diapers!

For the past year i have been trying to decide what exactly i want to do with my life. and after many months of long prayer and endless thought i have decided that next fall, i will be moving to Austin to go to cosmetology school so that i can have my childhood dream job... a hairstylist! Im so excited about this decision because it is something i have always wanted to do! I am still deciding which school in Austin i will be attending because there a few really good ones! Ill keep you all posted if i make anymore decisions!

Bellies and Babies, and Love oh my!

As time goes by we are anxiously awaiting the day we can meet Baby baird, and Baby Squirt! I am so blessed to have two very healthy and very prego sisters! As Maggie is preparing Bairds bedroom and Amanda is sneaking girl things into her house, I am realizing just how close the birth of these two precious babies really are. And i must tell you, i am SO excited! I think that i will love being an Aunt almost as much as i love being a sister! Two days ago i got to hear the heart beat of my precious nephew, Baird. It was a very moving moment for me, although I held my self together quite well. As i heard Bairds heartbeat for the first time I was blazed with excitement and amazed by the fact that my sister actually has a baby growing inside of her belly. So after realizing the reality of what being pregnant really means, i figured there were a few things i should inform Baird and squirt of before they are born into this eclectic, full of life, not the norm family. So listen up babies, your Auntie M is giving you her wonderful words of wisdom!
When you arrive in your new world, there will be lots of new things to get used to. Things like your new room, diapers, and dogs that want to investigate you but most importantly, there will be lots of people to meet. To make this transition a little easier for you, I will give you a sneak peek, or ‘cheat sheet', for your mommy's side of the family. Trust me, there are a lot of us, and you may need it! So here goes...

Deda, your Grandma is one special lady. She may be forgetful but she has some of the best advise that anyone could offer. If you can get her to cook you a meal, your tummies will thank you, but dont expect that unless its a holiday or your birthday. She is the most patient woman you could ever meet, especially when you are being foolish. She is a dependable source of comfort, you can always count on her words of wisdom to get you through your toughest days. Your Paw Paw (Dedas husband) is a pretty great guy! He saved your Deda when she had given up on love. He always reminds you of the prospective of others and helps to guide you through the unknown. I cant wait for you to meet him, because he has a heart full of so much love and strength to share with you both!

Pops is a pretty powerful guy. If you are ever in trouble he is the one you should call because he will cross an ocean to be there when you need him! He is Strong and determined and has more goals than anyone I have ever met! He knows how to mix hard work with fun, which most people find difficult. If i were to guess what his advise to you would be , i would say "Find something you love, and pursue it!" When i think of the word Grandpa I tend to think about fishing, hunting, and camping... but if your thinking the same thing, I would get that image out of your head, because im not sure he will ever take you to do any of those things! That being said, he will take you to some of the most amazing places on earth and tell you every detail about each destination. He is one crazy guy, who cant wait to be your grandpa!

Amanda! Amanda! Amanda! What can i say about my beloved sister?! She is simply amazing!   She can scrapbook any memory she has! so if you have a crafty project you need help with, she is the one you should turn to. Squirt, your mommy has an amazing ear, so she will always be there to listen! Baird, ask your Aunt Amanda about the time she tried to catch the bouquet at your mommys wedding! (; Ryan is a pretty smart guy considering he married my sister! Squirt your daddy changed your mommys life! I have to give him credit because without him, i would not be writing you this 'family cheat sheet!' Baird, your uncle Ryan will always be there to make you laugh! He can also take you Fishing, camping and basically anything you have to do outdoors! He is also a complete goofball and you will probably have lots of fun together since he is just a big kid himself.

Baird, Maggie is your mommy, and you will soon realize that homemade Vanilla Ice Cream is your mommys weakness. So my advice to you is before you get in trouble, bring her home a tub(; I have learned that flattery makes the heart grow fonder, although im not sure how anyone could be more fond of you than your mom. Squirt, your aunt maggie is the one that will give you the right answers to life, at least the answers she thinks are right!! But, if you need help making a decision, she is the one to turn to! Griffin has been a part of the family for as long as I can remember! So Baird, i trust that your daddy knows our family well enough now that he will help to guide you through the unknown. Squirt, your Uncle griffin is the sorta quiet one, but don't let that fool you. He is just waiting for the right moment to say something that will make everyone laugh.

Aunt Micah is a hoot! If you ever need a play mate, she is your gal! She knows every word to every song she has ever heard! If you ever need help on your spanish homework, give her a call! She is so smart that it would blow your mind to know she is only 7 years old! She is so excited to meet you and finally be an aunt!

As for me, Auntie M, I love to sing, write, and play the piano! Im very different than people expect me to be, because i am not type A like every other woman in the family! You should also know that i have never been more excited as i am now that i know you will both be part of this word. We have been waiting for a new baby in this family for quite some time!

Babies; Baird and Squirt, i feel that you are both so lucky to be a part of this family because your lives will be filled with so much love and happiness, and craziness, but mostly love! We are all very excited to meet you and we all love you already. You can be sure you will always have hands to hold you and hearts to love you in this family! We'll see you soon!

The "411"

Acceptance is the answer to all my problems today. when i am disturbed, it is because i find some person, place, thing, or situation-- some fact of my life-- unacceptable to me, and i can find no serenity until i accept that person, place, thing, or situation as being exactly the way it is supposed to be at this moment. nothing, absolutely nothing, happens in God's world by mistake. until i could accept my drug problem, i could not stay sober; unless i accept life completely on life's terms, i cannot be happy. i need to concentrate not so much on what needs to be changed in the world as on what needs to be changed in me and my attitudes.
